Quick Update

We will try and make this a quick update...

Leanne's brother Warren was slated to go to Afghanistan in December for 7 months and is no longer going. The army decided to change their mind with him and 25 of his co-workers. This is a good thing for the family as we were all really worried about him going, especially with all the deaths and injuries lately. PHEW! Although, this means that our trip to N.B. in November will have to be cancelled which we know will not make a lot of people happy. FORGIVE US!

Phil is very busy at work due to everything happening in Afghanistan. His unit is leading the force over there right now so there is plenty for them to do here. Unfortunately "busy" isn't a good thing. It has been tough for him as he has lost quite a few co-workers in the last month. It is a tough job but he is getting through it. He is still just focussed on getting that transfer. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!

Chayton is finally getting another tooth. He has just cut a bottom middle tooth, after about a month and a half break from getting his other teeth. He has been pretty cranky, but we are managing. We know the next 8 months or so are going to be tough, considering he has quite a few more teeth to get.

Leanne is almost 26 weeks pregnant now. Counting down the days. 104 to go! We are just focussed on trying to get the things we need still. Who thought we needed MORE. It is fun because our neighbour Jennifer is also pregnant, so it is neat to have a close friend going through the same things.

Christmas holidays are sort of up in the air. Especially with Phil's family. We think that we will be between Petawawa and Ottawa mostly. The Drost Christmas will probably be after Janice's and our babies are born. Phil's mom will be out in BC helping Janice and Jono around Dec 12th on, so we will probably stick close to home. Especially since Leanne will be 9 months pregnant too. Not fun for travelling. Leanne's brother is now suppose to be coming home for Christmas. So, we will probably have our own Christmas and then head out boxing day to Ottawa. And by then we will know what is happening with the Drost Christmas.

That is about it for now. Guess that update wasn't so quick... :)

Chayton's Family History Lesson...

Chayton and his 1st Tee-Pee
Who knew Grandpa was in Algonquin Park! Ha Ha!
Mmmm...Chayton Soup!
Chayton with an Ancestor!

Chayton was getting pretty cranky in the car on the drive home from Phil's parents, so we decided to stop just outside of Algonquin Park. Chayton had some fun running around in the Indian (Native American) park. He got his 1st lesson on Indian Affairs! Now all we need is some Wooden Shoes and he will be well rounded!

New "Jammies" and New Steps

See, he acutally has teeth!

Proud new owner of STEPS!

Leanne's dad built Chayton some new steps so that he can reach the bathroom sink to wash his hands and brush his teeth before bed. Chayton just loves being able to reach the sink, and thinks brushing his teeth is the coolest thing. We know he only has 3 teeth, but it is never to early to start. As soon as we say "Brush your teeth?", he runs to the bathroom and points at his toothbrush! He is growing up too fast! ( I think he just sucks more water out of his toothbrush than he actually brushes, but Mommy gets the teeth part done for him)

Bad Hair Day!

Proof that Chayton has hair! We came back from a walk, and it was really chilly so Chayton wore a hat. We couldn't believe that he could acutally have messy hair. (Excuse the Soucy, we hide them for bed time, but he always manages to find one)

Visiting Cousin Emmett!

Emmett Barrie Godin(More hair than Chayton can dream of)
Chasing the kitty under the table
"Charles" (He has claws Chayton quickly found out)
Proud Great Aunt Connie

This past weekend we went to visit Leanne's cousin Heather's new baby Emmett. Chayton wasn't exactly impressed with Grandma or Mommy holding the new baby, trying to pull poor Emmett out of our arms. We didn't get many pictures as Leanne spent most of the time chasing Chayton all over the house, or away from Emmett! He eventually forgot about Emmett, but decided that making the kitty cat hiss and run was more fun.

Fall is here!

This is the Maple tree across the street. We can't believe the leaves are already falling!
